With reference to the article titled “Seven months into working and no contribution to SPK yet,” published on the Opinion page of the Borneo Bulletin on Saturday, 22 June 2024, we would like to express our gratitude to the writer, Contribution-less, for their concerns and comments. In order to assist further with this issue, we invite the writer to officially contact us via email at ask@tap.com.bn.
Employers play a crucial role in safeguarding their employees' well-being by contributing to their retirement accounts, ensuring they receive full benefits upon retirement. TAP emphasizes that Employers must register and contribute for their eligible Employees to TAP no later than the 15th of each month. It is essential that Employers not only make monthly contributions but also provide accurate contribution information, as payments without correct details cannot be allocated to the Employee's account.
We remind Employers that a complete contribution consists of both the payment and the accurate contribution information. Failure to comply with these requirements will result in penalties and late charges.
Eligible employees include citizens and permanent residents of Brunei Darussalam below the age of 60, encompassing Permanent Employees, Part-Time Employees, Temporary Employees, Employees under Probation, Contract Employees and Business Owners or Directors receiving a salary. For employees without a basic salary, it encompasses any remuneration received based on work done, such as allowances, apprentice allowances commission or directors’ fee.
Employees are encouraged to always check their monthly contribution status to ensure that the deductions from their salary are correctly contributed into their accounts. This can be easily done by logging into their e-Amanah account at www.tap.com.bn.
For enforcement related matters such as unpaid contributions, members of the public are highly encouraged to raise their concerns or lodge their complaints by directly contacting our Enforcement hotline at 730 2929 (WhatsApp only) or email at enforcement@tap.com.bn.
For general inquiries including inquiries on statements, we can be reached through our TAP Call Centre at 272 2929 during working hours, via email at ask@tap.com.bn, or by directly messaging us through e-Amanah. Additional information on SPK can be found at www.tap.com.bn.
